KITESURF SPOTS
One of the best places to practice kitesurfing in Spain is situated on the beaches between Tarifa and Cadiz. Costa de la Luz given directly to the Atlantic Ocean provides the best conditions for the waves arriving with full force on the shores of Cádiz. Large waves especially in winter when there is time in the Atlantic.
Especially in the period from autumn to spring are the waves at TARIFA clean the entire coast. On good days the height of the waves can reach up to 1.5 m -3. The best situation is when the wind changed to west from the Levant. These days surfers in Costa de la Luz can count on the best waves in water, a completely flat.
There are six main areas of between Tarifa and Cadiz Kitesurf:
- The secret place (at the end of the dunes, past Casas de Porro. Is reached by the military road leading to the tip between the dunes and Bologna)
With good waves from south and south-east, this beach offers a great surfing. Eye with a rock that comes from the wave. Excellent conditions with impressive surroundings.
- Yerba Buena (3 km past the road in Barbate Canos de Meca)
This wave of right is very well with a wave to south-south west. Beware of rocks and thieves.
- La Barrosa, Roche (Go west of El Palmar and follow the signs to Camping Roche)
A number of beaches with waves of left and right, with only sand bottom.
Although it fills a little in summer, but is a place worth visiting during the off season.

The wave here is caused by rocks in the soil of the coast and the tide is low even the stones, it is recommended only catch waves at high tide or rising.
- Punta Paloma (Benavides): Another place for surfing in Tarifa Punta Paloma is. Not many people here and no need to fight for a place in the wave.

- El Palmar: about 60 km from Tarifa towards Cadiz. Waves of left and right, better with mild winds from the west. This beach is west and waves up to 3 m tall. Although the waves are very strong, is the most regular of the coast and which almost always, though not good, you can surf. In almost all the beaches, the fund is only sand, there are very few rocks. The best place is between the access road and the stone tower.
